We had the good fortune of connecting with Yashna Bahri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi yashna, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk has shaped my life more than I realised at the time. I’ve been moving cities since I was 17, often dropping myself into unfamiliar environments and figuring things out as I go. Each move demanded adaptation, and over time that’s shaped how I think about art and how I work.
I’ve come to see risk as a privilege. Having the space to take creative or career leaps often requires a certain level of security or self-trust, and I don’t take that lightly. As an artist, risk feels essential, it’s what lets ideas move beyond what feels safe. I’ve always thought of myself as quite conservative when it comes to risk. I like plans, stability, and knowing where my next step is coming from. But looking back , quitting a corporate job, moving cities on my own, starting over more than once , it turns out uncertainty is something I keep finding my way back to, even when I insist I’m playing it safe.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m still discovering what truly sets me apart as an artist, and honestly, I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of where I want to go. Animation became my way to tell stories and explore ideas , it lets me move, experiment, and bring imagination to life in ways that feel deeply personal. On top of that, I’m in the midst of starting my own brand with my best friend, Pickle and Plum, focused on wearable art. My dream is to build both an animation business and a creative brand that lets me travel the world, creating work inspired by the places I go and the people I meet.
London has been where my creativity feels most alive. I’ve learned so much here and met an incredible number of people who’ve pushed me to stretch my limits, take risks, and see things differently. Every project, every collaboration, every leap has taught me to adapt, stay curious, and trust the process ,even when it’s messy or uncertain.
What excites me most is the openness of the journey itself , the chance to evolve, experiment, and push boundaries .I want the world to know that I’m still figuring things out , and that’s intentional. My work is rooted in exploration, intuition, and lived experience, embracing the human side of creativity in a time when so much can be automated.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my family and my partner — for being endlessly supportive, for cheering me on, and for giving me the freedom to explore, take risks, and make a few questionable decisions along the way. I wouldn’t be here without their love, patience, and occasional reality checks!
