We had the good fortune of connecting with Yoav Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yoav, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve worked in the TV industry, mainly in reality and documentary, for over 10 years. While it has been a very dynamic, challenging an interesting experience felt like the future is in shorter form content. At the same time that I was starting my business Instagram as a platform started to emerge the combination of both these things led me to starting my business that takes telling shorter stories to the next level.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We see the digital media world in a 360 way – meaning that we take into consideration all possible aspects and platforms from traditional digital press to digital billboards, tv placement/commercials, PPC etc. We have amazing NYC partners that execute in each of these departments. I personally believe you should have the best person for the job in each category I’m not a big believer in agencies that think they could do it all. In life and in business I always prefer going to someone who specializes in one specific thing.

Internally at Davis Media we only specialize in organic content. Focusing on media that is not paid is more interesting because the focus becomes the story of the company/brand/nonprofit we are working with.

Our onboarding process starts mainly from getting to know the full story of our client, interviewing them in depth, brainstorming and combining their story with the best digital media strategies coming up with a ‘digital DNA code’ terminology and beliefs.

Luckily the creative side of things is what I find the most enjoyable. The ability to connect with the people behind brands companies and non profits and tell their story in a way that engages with other people is something that comes very naturally to me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Central Park running and having a drink after, at one of classic wine bars in the upper Westside.

Chinatown for a massage and dinner.

Hell’s Kitchen enjoying the best Ramen in the world and then going to one of the bars.

Soho strolling down the street and having brunch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In terms of recognition our main partners are our clients who believe in us and allow us to express ourselves creatively and tell their story.
