We had the good fortune of connecting with Yolanda Warren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yolanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was encouraged by my friends and husband to start my own business. It sounded great, so I started putting the action behind the plan and on July 11, 2016, I launched In The Know with Yo, Your Go-To Girl for VIP events, and more!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For the past 15 years, I have worked for one of the largest entertainment studios in the world. Since being there I have served on the Board of Directors for the Employee Resource Group which has led to countless opportunities to meet new people and get out of my comfort zone. As I was attending several VIP events my social media “kind of” blew up because of the celebrities I was hanging out with and just the ambiance of the lavish events I would post, which led to friends wanting to know – How? Can I be your plus 1? So, I started sharing events with them and because I am an over-sharer and more and more people wanted to know, I started a Google Group. Over the years I have learned that my name is My Brand. Protect it and what you put out there.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok, so if my BFF was visiting LA for a week here is an itinerary of what we would do!! Enjoy the quintessential Hollywood experience!!

Monday:
Drive up the PCH and enjoy a day at the beach in Malibu, dinner at Geoffrey’s

Tuesday:
Shopping on Rodeo in Beverly Hills, Lunch at Gucci Osteria, then continue shopping on Melrose

Wednesday:
Spend some time in Hollywood, Walk Hollywood Blvd, catch a musical at The Pantages, Drag Queen Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s

Thursday:
Santa Monica Pier, Beach, Rooftop Cinema, The Bungalow for drinks

Friday:
Stroll Venice Beach Boardwalk, people watch, Visit the Venice Canals, Dine, and shop along posh Abbot Kinney

Saturday:
Drive up to Santa Barbara for wine tasting, visit SB Zoo

Sunday:
Brunch at The Highlight Room
