We had the good fortune of connecting with Yuki He and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yuki, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
– Entrepreneurs, especially female entrepreneurs, have a particularly challenging life-family-work balance. me too. I am the only child in my family and a single mother with a ten-year-old child. I live with my mother and son. There are often choices in the allocation of time. In the beginning, I was actually very miserable. When I couldn’t handle family affairs or spend time with my family because of work, I would feel very guilty, and when I couldn’t take care of work because of family affairs, I would also feel helpless and anxious. In the end, I became more and more dissatisfied with myself and felt that I could not do anything well. – But in recent years I have come to realize a truth: there is no perfect balance, and trying to balance everything is the source of pain. All I have to do is take and trade. When I chose a job, I did my best and no longer blamed myself or struggled with my inability to take care of my family. Conversely, when you choose to accompany your family, you will also go all out.
– Focusing on the choices at the moment, doing things with a calm mind, is more efficient, the quality of work and life is higher, and I myself feel happier. Another very important point is that you must set aside some dedicated time for yourself, whether it is fitness, meditation, or entertainment and relaxation, to recharge yourself and restore energy so that you can work and live in a better state.

What should our readers know about your business?
***My business: I founded LiveMe in 2016 and LiveMe is a social live-streaming app that enables people to connect with each other. From day one, we strive to create services and experiences that exceed expectations.

***How to get to today? (Thought process)
-“Connection” is the bottom-level need of human beings. In primitive society, if a person is separated from the crowd, he cannot survive alone, he will face loneliness, fear, and the threat of survival. Therefore, human beings are born instinctively just wanting to connect with other people. Connecting makes us feel safe, present, and worthwhile.
– I have been working on the Internet since graduating from university, and I personally feel that Internet technology helps people to connect more conveniently and closely. In 2015, the mature video and live broadcast technology made me feel very excited. I foresee that video will change the form of information dissemination in the future, especially real-time interactive video, which is not only more prosperous and more realistic than pictures and texts but also like crossing time and space. People can interact face to face in real-time, so I decided to start a business to make such a live video interactive product so that people can connect with each other, show their talents here, make exciting friends here, and connect with the world anytime, anywhere. Expand your boundaries and get more happiness. This has always been the mission of JOYME, the company I founded: Connect the world, Spread Happiness.

***Not easy, lessons:
– Risk is something you have to face and take if you want to have a great life and keep pushing your boundaries. Only by learning to live with risks can we find opportunities to benefit from risks. There is a book called Antifragile that I think has helped me a lot with my mindset about risk. When facing risks, first of all, is your own mentality. Don’t be too optimistic and reckless, and don’t be too pessimistic and timid. Keep yourself as calm and objective as possible.
– The development of the company is up and down, so we must be able to face it coldly and calmly. In good times, guard against arrogance and impatience, and be prepared for danger in times of peace; but in adversity, do not blame others, be optimistic and positive.
– Be curious. Do sports. Keep learning. They help me with mental and physical growth.
