We had the good fortune of connecting with Z Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Z, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
When I was young, I was very into art. What started as a love for movies and video games became into a love for art as a whole. Surprisingly, I didn’t find my love for music until a little later in life. It wasn’t until my early teens that I really started listening to music. I went ahead and gave it a try myself, and in the midst of preparing for a talent show, I decided it was my calling.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
To me, human emotion is the core of art. Good art makes you feel. It tugs at the strings, and makes you feel a myriad of emotions from joy, to sadness, to anger. It can be a great learning tool, helping us learn about ourselves and life in general. This is what I hope to do with my art. I hope to enhance the joy of those that are happy, comfort those that are sad, and guide those looking for guidance. And along the way, I hope I learn something too.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a bit of a homebody, but if I had a friend visiting from outside, one of the places I’d like to take them to is Hollywood. Hollywood is both a famous place, and a place that’s dear to me. I lived in Hollywood for awhile, and went to college there. I go often to work with producers and cook up a new track. I’m planning on moving back soon, so it would be cool to show them a place that has played, and continues to play a big part in my story.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my mom. She has encouraged me on this journey from the very beginning. She was always supportive of my dreams, and has helped me pursue them too. I can confidently say that I wouldn’t be where I am without her support. Thanks Mom, love you.
