Meet Zack Ritchie | Art focused Businessman

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zack Ritchie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zack, what makes you happy? Why?
Over the years i have found so much joy in setting daily habits. Daily habits have really changed my life and built a self confidence in me that allows me to rely on myself. I’ve noticed Journaling really makes me self aware and pay attention to my moods, triggers and allows me to map my personal growth. When i Draw i am in this state where i lose track of time and it can change my mood instantly.
I also find joy in the simple things in life, like the sound of the sea, exploring somewhere new, traveling, meeting friends and helping others. Happiness comes from gratitude, it’s very important for me to journal and write my daily achievements. Doing this has made me an overall more happy person.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I come from the sunny island of Malta a small fish shaped island with a population of 400,000. Malta is filled to the brim with culture and heritage. We have 360 Churches and a lot of them employe the skill of talented artist. I do however feel that Malta solely capitalises our past and we are not pushing innovation and the art/artist of today. I am on a mission to led by example and push My personal Art around Malta. I am also very active on social and part of many local art communities.
I am extremely passionate about the arts and entrepreneurship. Over the past few years i have worked in the world of advertising and commercial illustration. From the start of 2022 I made the switch from helping businesses with campaigns and visual to commercialise to fully working on personal projects.
Some of these projects include, Archipals, Nft_Club & Cacticrew.
Archipals is my way of playfully capturing Maltas historic culture into satirical cartoons with a pop-cultural twist. My brother Kane Ritchie and I run NFT_Club an instagram page where we educate on web3 and curate quality Nft Art. I have set a goal very much outside of my comfort-zone to create original unique editions of art based on a Maltese cactus character called Bep and upload them as NFTs for a whole year. Thats 365 artworks in total. The collection is called cacticrew and at this moment in time we are on day 200, not one day has been missed.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Make sure to bring some sunblock and a swim suit as Malta is great for catching some Sun. Here is a week that will give you a good taste of the island life.
Day1 – A day in the capital city of Valletta, Lunch at The Bagel Hole by Matt Mondini, exploring museums, exhibitions and the architecture of this old lovely city. Dinner with a view of the bastions and sea and a tour round the lovely bars we have in valletta straight street.
Day 2- A “Fenkata night” in Mgarr this is Malta’s traditional spaghetti rabbit and rabbit with roasted potatoes. Followed by a night at the feast. Malta’s feasts are known for fireworks, Marching parade, confetti and over all good vibes.
Day3 – A day in Mdina, Malta’s old capital city. it is know as the silent city. Later in the evening we will visit a networking event called Cryptohub Malta Wednesdays. A crypto event that happens ever wednesday where very interesting people from all over the world who share a love for web3 come together to network, share ideas and educate others.
Day 4. A whole day exploring the silent island of Gozo. We will hire quad-bikes and explore Gozo, this island is more rural and less developed then Malta. It’s know for its peace and quiet and lovely sceneries. We can drive by the beaches and catch some sun and later drive to the fisherman’s village and have some fish by the sea.
Day 5. Whole day out on the boat at the blue lagoon Malta’s most known beach. this is a crystal blue lagoon that is known for its beauty. its located in Comino, a sister island 2 kilometres away from Malta. We will pack some local dips and local wines and watermelon off course.
Day 6- Cultural and Heritage day, A visit to the worlds Oldest temples followed by a visit to Malta most modern and possibly most iconic building, The Mercury Tower a building designed by the iconic architect, Zaha Hadid. A dinner in Sliema area and later in the evening some live music and drinks by the beach at exiles.
Day 7- A day by Marsaxlokk, a fisherman village hugged by a seascape of Luzzu’s a colourful fishermen boats, followed by a nice walk to digest our food.
I feel This will give you a condensed idea of the Maltese island life we have.
