Meet zairah hid | Model & Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with zairah hid and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi zairah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It all started in 2019 when I wanted to pursue modeling. I started posting for consistently on my Instagram and photographers grew fond over me and that’s what started my modeling journey. Fashion wise it started in 2020 I wanted to do something in Fashion but I didn’t know what but u loved thrifting and creating signature looks. So I did style bundles as my first process for my business and then as months started going by I was asked by photographers if I could style their shoots and that’s what made me a fashion stylist today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art that is the form of styling and modeling comes from my culture and what I can think of on the spot. Everyday I am flooded with new ideas of concepts, textures, colors for shoots I want to style and creative direct. I don’t really have a set in stone style its just what comes to my mind on a daily. I think that is what sets me apart from others is that I go to school for psychology and fashion. I do this because I love getting to know my clients, making sure they are comfortable in what they are wearing and how they feel overall! Incorporating my two passions have helped me connect so much and put myself out there on a whole other level. I have had many challenges where past friendships were not happy for my successes and tried to tear me down but I always choose peace over chaos. And these past years and months I have protected my peace by choosing my circle wisely, focusing on the positive aspects in my life because they do outweigh the negative and focus on what I can create. I want people to see my journey and my struggles because it wasn’t easy building myself up alone. I had to lose friends, connections in order to build better ones and that isn’t easy because I value friendships and connections dearly. I want to be able to help and inspire others to keep pursuing their passions despite the turbulences.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in the IE and there isn’t much to do out here but I have found spots in the surrounding areas that I introduced visiting family and friends to. To begin I love hiking and beautiful scenery and by my house in Chino Hills, there is a trail loop called “Eucalyptus Trail Loop”. And I take all my friends here when they come down and visit. It is truly a beautiful vibe because the surrounding hills are green and during sunset hour in spring time is beautiful. If I want to take my friends out to eat I take them to my favorite sushi restaurant in Claremont Village. I don’t know the name of it but its by the 21 choices ice cream place. It has beautiful scenery and we would eat outside by the fire pit and my favorite roll is the 911 roll. The last place that I take only my close friends to is a private beach in Laguna and I won’t spoil the name because this place holds beautiful memories where I journaled by myself when I just wanted to escape from everything. But I take my friends there and eat our charcuterie boards while watching the sunset.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely want to thank my friend Freddy Castro! He is an amazing makeup artist and I met him in 2020 and we would collaborate on content and he would always convince me to pursue and take modeling more seriously and he put me on with people and tapped me in with connections. He always knew I loved to model and style and I was confused if I wanted to do both or not and he told me that I am capable to do both and to just put myself out there more and I did ! I am truly blessed for him because he has helped me pursue where I am today!
