Meet Zander Reddis | Bassist, Guitarist, and Stringed Instrument Tech

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zander Reddis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zander, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued a creative career in a couple of fields, because artistry and creativity have always sparked the most joy and inspiration for me, for as long as I can remember. From getting lost in the fantasy of Harry Potter books, to seeing my dad build incredible things out of nothing with only his hands and tools, to discovering the vast world of musical genres and instruments, my most visceral and vivid emotions and ideas have always come from art, in one form or another.
For me, that kind of enveloping inspiration is the essence of a truly fulfilling and joyful life, and exactly what I wanted to spend my life doing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of what I have contributed to the musical projects I am grateful to be a part of – specifically Sixes, Dim7 & Sordes Dominum. These projects have created so many opportunities to experience incredible things, tour across America and Europe, record and play music that I love, collaborate with so many talented people, and innumerable memories that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
Within my field as a guitar tech, I am incredibly lucky to work at Schecter and learn so much from truly skilled techs and creative, business minded people. I am very proud to be a part of a company that has such a rich history while still always moving forward, and look forward to continuing to build my craft within the company and with my own personal projects.
I don’t think anyone’s road is every fully smooth or easy, mine included, but I wouldn’t change anything. Things don’t always happen according to an ideal plan or timeline, but I think bumps in the road create a stronger, better person if you can learn from it. Personally, I have overcome challenges by trying to always focus on how much I have to be grateful for, no matter the circumstance, as well as staying focused on the big picture goal of creating art and hopefully impacting the world in some positive and meaningful way. I’ve also been fortunate to find many kind souls around me – I’m forever grateful to those I have been fortunate to call true friends. I’ve been in Los Angeles nearly 10 years now, I consider myself very lucky to be living the life I do, and I am so excited to see what my path will bring next.
Regarding a brand/story, simply put I love to play bass, guitar, and fix instruments. I hope to continue to be involved in the heavy music community, and if any musicians need an instrument setup or repaired, I am here to help and get your instrument playing beautifully.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is so many amazing things to discover here, I haven’t seen it all by a long shot! That being said, one special place for me to eat is at Yamashiro. The view is amazing and the food and drinks are wonderful. I also love The Cauldron in Orange County, a truly magical place with burning skull fire pits and a (literal) cauldron in the fireplace.
Harry Potter’s Wizarding World is a necessity – as well as the rest of Universal Studios, ideally during Halloween Horror Nights. Additionally, all of the haunted houses here are fantastic- especially 17th Door, Reign of Terror, and Knott’s Scary Farm.
Magnolia Blvd in Burbank is great- tons of unique places, including my personal favorites of Mystic Museum and Halloweentown.
Amoeba Music and The Last Bookstore are my favorite shops to get lost in.
For some scenery and nature, Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Topanga Canyon, and Griffith Park are some of my favorite places to walk around. A little further out, Joshua Tree and Lake Arrowhead are gorgeous, especially for experiencing snow in the winter.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely! I’m lucky to have had a great deal of wonderful, kind people in my life – but most notably I’d like to give recognition to Alex Crescioni, Iorden Mitev, and all members of Sixes.
