We had the good fortune of connecting with Zé Otavio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zé, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
The first thing that came to my mind is when I show a song that love to my kid Sebastian and he loves it as well and starts to sing along.. just because I love him and I love music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
well, I’ve always loved to mix different techniques and medias on my artwork.. like collage, tape, stickers mixed with pencils, watercolour, acrylics, ballpoint pen, etc.. I’ve always liked to draw and photograph people so I’m really into portraits and moves me a lot the expressions, the eyes,, clothes and behaviour. I guess those things really get my personal artwork going and this is what art directors expect for me on the portraits. Something unusual, expressive..

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I guess my parents.. my mother to always give me money since I was kid to buy all sorts of albums, comics, books and magazines and my father to show me the big city of São Paulo which change my life forever.
