We had the good fortune of connecting with Zeus Universe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zeus, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always been obsessed with the power of music. Being from New Orleans, I remember how the marching bands made me feel; HBCUs specifically. I knew I wanted to be a musician from very young. My love for music grew into an interest in being a Disc Jockey. Once I saw my father begging as a dj, I wanted to start on that journey as well. From there, my djing took a life of its own.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love mixing at all of my gigs, but my favorite one is the Bayou Classic in New Orleans Louisiana. It is like the HBCU Super Bowl inside of the Caesar Superdome in New Orleans. I feel I get to come to my hometown, and show everyone what I have learned in the past year, show how my art has developed, and create unique experience inside a stadium. It was not easy getting to where I am today. I would be nowhere without my friends and family that I have gained along the way. The lesson I’ve learned, is to always treat everyone with respect because you never who you may work with! What I want the world to know about me is, I am a person that knows who I am and where I want to go, but I will never forget where I come from or how I got there.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a guy that loves to go to brunch with my friends. Sunday Fun-days is a must for me! Even when I have to dj a gig on a Sunday, I invite all my friends there. I love to hike and be in the outdoors, so a morning workout would be essential. Also, trying new spots in Santa Monica and finding random dive bars with bands is always an experience. Then, I’ll head to the crypto arena to watch whatever game that’s going on; hockey, basketball, or whatever sports. I love them all.
