We had the good fortune of connecting with Zhike Yang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zhike, how does your business help the community?
Storytelling, the core of our content, envisages memories and visions that empower individuals to overcome obstacles pursue greatness, and create great memories. Our stories act as beacons, once seen, it will guide audiences through experiences that inspire courage and resilience. This belief in the transformative power of narrative is central to our mission, leveraging storytelling to forge connections, evoke emotions, and inspire action across global communities.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art thrives on the principle that ‘Story is a river, it reflects our present and rolls into the future’ meandering through the essence of human experience, from ancient myths to open-ended futures. Feelings and emotions serve as bridges across cultures and ages, underscoring my belief that stories touching the audience’s heart will define the ultimate trend in the future. This perspective shapes my work in animation and live-action, where I meticulously observe, feel, absorb, and adapt societal emotions into narratives.

Films like ‘RenaiDance’ embody this ethos, blending time-honored storytelling techniques with narrative innovations that deeply resonate with audiences. I am currently working on a new animation project that begins with the revenge of the most overlooked mentee character in the famous Oriental novel ‘Journey to the West.’ It will soon be released on my website. I hope you will find it as compelling as my previous works.

My commitment to narrative innovation—exploring vulnerability, quirks, and the human condition—sets my brand apart, inviting the world to experience storytelling that transcends time and medium. By delving into untapped narratives and presenting them through innovative lenses, I aim to continually challenge and expand the boundaries of how stories are told and experienced. It is this pioneering spirit and dedication to crafting impactful narratives that I believe will significantly contribute to the field of narrative visual arts.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The enchanting orange-pinky skies at sunset epitomize the iconic romance of the US West Coast, especially in LA. For a place that captures this essence, Laguna Beach stands out with its three-layered, glass-clear water and diverse geological scenery, offering a refreshing burst of vibrant colors and energy. It’s a haven for city dwellers seeking solace in nature’s beauty—a reflection of how environments can inspire and rejuvenate our creative spirit, and family time-friendly!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I extend heartfelt gratitude to my mentor, James Grimaldi, and the myriad of directors and storyboard artists I’ve had the honor of collaborating with. Their invaluable feedback and unwavering support ignite the creative spark in my narrative visual art journey. It is this collective inspiration and mentorship that fuels my passion for storytelling, driving me to push the boundaries of narrative arts worldwide.
