Hi Modest, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Honesty is the value/principle that matters the most to me because it is so important to be the best version of myself. I gravitate toward situations where I feel that I can be my best self. Integrity is key. If someone can be honest with me, I can respect them even if I don’t agree with them. The ultimate goal is to be an expression of my soul and to reflect my true self. At this juncture, I don’t feel that I should have to lie to anyone and I do not tolerate being lied to. My lie detector is on point and I can easily remove myself from a table where honesty is not being served.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Modest Jones, LLC dba Modest Jones Organic is a family-owned entertainment business. One of the main things that sets us apart from others is that we showcase our true identities. We don’t just put on for the camera. We keep it real. I am most proud of the projects/campaigns we have booked as a family. It’s amazing to share my resources with my sons and other family members. I got to where I am today, professionally, by believing in myself and realizing that I can pay myself more to do what I truly want to do. Once I figured out that I wasn’t in line with my purpose and that I would be happier and more successful living a purpose-driven life, I had to flip the script. It has not been an easy road but I have been enjoying the ride. Once I trained my brain to wake up without an alarm clock and I truly learned to prioritize, life became so much easier. Books like, “Think and Grow Rich” and mentors like Abraham Hicks were of great inspiration. One of the biggest lessons I learned along the way is “don’t show all of your cards”. I had to teach myself to be more discreet. I learned the hard way. I realized that when I got super excited, I had a tendency to over share. That came back to bite me and I had to become much more exclusive. The Modest Jones brand wants to express to the world that natural beauty and pure intentions can transport us to a land of limitless possibilities. True Beauty comes from the inside and that soul in there cannot be destroyed. There’s a part of us that will always go on. My brand is my mark that I leave on this life experience. It’s me sharing my inner me with you. Modest Jones Organic.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Venice Beach skate park. I love taking photos with the graffiti in the background. The beach houses in LB, HB, Newport & Balboa are amazing with ocean waves crashing nearby. I love to wake up to the sounds and smells of the sea. Cruising from Venice Beach to Santa Monica Pier and vice a versa, especially on a beach cruiser or skateboard is my absolute favorite thing to do in LA. There are always kool vendors and amazing people watching. There’s a fresh sunglasses stand next to “Venice Kush” dispensary and the prices are good so it’s a win win. My favorite place to eat is M Cafe in Los Angeles. There are amazing Vegan options and the best turmeric latte with hemp milk.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My sons deserve the credit and recognition for saving my life and my soul.
