The music industry has a 99% failure rate, so it’s definitely not for the faint hearted. The 1% are not necessarily the most talented or the best looking, they are the ones who didn’t give up. That’s what keeps us motived to keep going. A shared motive for Calyco is that none of us have ever done anything else, we have no plan Bs and no intentions of ever letting failure be an option. There is no specific thing that tells me if I should keep going or give up. Everyone has a different story and different factor involved in shaping their path. For me personally, giving up is not an option at all. I cannot afford to look back, or give up my current journey and try something else. For me it’s all or nothing. The way I see it is, if you have a plan B and Plan C for your life, you will never end up putting enough effort in Plan A. That’s just my thoughts.. I gave up everything I knew in Mumbai, and moved halfway around the globe t LA to be a musician. This is what I know, and music is who I am. There really is no giving up for me. Patience is a virtue. Anyone who is chasing after their dreams should not give up. I believe the only reason why people give up is because what they are trying to accomplish is harder than they thought it would be. If you stay in the right headspace, and wait for your time, it will come. Everybody has their moment. There have been times I have wanted to give up. There are times that I have felt too old as a 20 year old in the music industry. But then I remember that I have so much time, and so much time to grow and perfect my craft.
