We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas G. Sims and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose the arts because it’s the only thing that speaks to my soul. The realm of art is so blissful and tranquil that it can touch the souls of millions. I am astonished by the fact that I can make someone’s day brighter through the art of acting. When I’m on set or stage I can feel every bit of passion flowing through me as if I am burning up in flames represented by the love I have for acting. The feeling of that is what I live for as an artist. Also in times of grief especially for people of color we can use our art to exhibit the pain that we’re going through during tragedy to help people best cope with the ways of this time. I wouldn’t want to be anything else other than an artist. I also chose art personally because I went through a dark time in my life where I was confused and lost. I was in a very dark place but the art of acting with the implementation of God brought true light to my life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My mission is to be one of the greatest actor to have ever graced the screen and stage. I have spent the past year becoming the most diverse actor that I can be with a very wide range. I’ve been through a vast number of obstacles at such a young age in which gives me experience to have access to any type of emotion. My circumstances and my talent will make me one of the best actors that has ever lived one day. I am ready for any type of work you throw at me. I am very confident in the artist that I am forming into but I love the arts because naturally we never a hundred percent get what we want out of our performances but it’s the pursuit and commitment that is beautiful in itself. I tell anyone that decides to step into this realm of art before you step into it, you have to be one with yourself. This is what sets me apart from any other artist because I am really in tune with myself. I’m not where I want to be professionally at all and not even close but I got to this point just by “sawing at the wood” working day in and day out not compromising for anyone to reach my goals. I’ve learned that you have to stay resilient through every obstacle that you may face in life no matter the circumstance. Life is not all about what you have it’s about what you do with what you have. I want the world to know that Nicholas G. Sims will bring his best foot to work every single day to commit to bringing the story to life and I will use my platform to shine light of joy & happiness on this world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would say my favorite spots to hit would have to be In-N-Out and the any street art of Nipsey Hussle. I would definitely take my friends and family to Fat Sal’s first just because I know they love to eat a lot of food! Then I would take them by Roscoes because who doesn’t want to go to Roscoes come on! I feel as if that it’s my obligation to take everyone by the Hollywood sign for the beautiful view. Santa Monica Pier has to be on the list as well for a destination to hit because there is so much diversity going on out there it’s beautiful to see. I know for me the first time coming to LA the most exciting part was seeing the Hollywood walk of fame because I pray one day that my name will be on one of those stars so I would definitely take them by there. To end things off I would definitely take them to the broad museum because I feel like its one of the coolest museums on earth.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my parents (Melissa & Gerard). Though being divorced they have always found ways to support me through any endeavor. My parents held it down for me as I have transitioned from the gridiron to the silver screen. I have really had a hard time with people telling me not to go this route because of the possible negatives that could come from acting. Though there are negatives you have to learn to persevere through the down times. In anything you do in life you will face cons. Everyone won’t be able to see the vision that God has stored inside of your mind because they’re simply not on the same journey or pathway that you’re on. My parents have supported my vision through and through which is why I continue to grind non-stop for them. Love you Guys!
