We had the good fortune of connecting with Odunayo Majekodunmi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Odunayo, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe Risk taking is a requirement in order to accomplish any Career, Business or Life Goal. It’s impossible to be successful without taking risks. We take small risks everyday naturally has a part of life but in order to Grow, taking major risks is a requirement. I’m constantly taking risks in my Career goals and has I get older I realize that risks are unavoidable. At this stage in my Life, all of my success has been the outcome of being brave enough to take a Risk.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an Actress, Writer and Producer of the One Woman Show “Girl from Schenectady” which premiered on June 9th, 2019 at the Hollywood Fringe and ran successfully for 8 performances in Los Angeles. The play was a long Journey for me because I started writing the script in 2011 and finally produced and performed the show in 2019. The play is based on my life long experiences to finding True Love. I play 11 different characters and tell the story of how I ended up a 40 year old Virgin. I was very pleased with the results and the feedback from audiences about the play but Women in particular who have struggled with finding Love, been in Abusive Relationships and gave up on True Love. This inspired me to Launch my current Project entitled “Ask The Girl from Schenectady”, which is a Youtube webisode premiering in July of 2020. The webisodes will consist of several discussions about the challenges and obstacles in Dating, Relationships, Finding True Love and Self Love. I’m excited about these webisodes and hope they will Encourage, Inspire and Empower Men and Women to Never Give Up on Love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I would first take her to Zuma Beach in Malibu, have a picnic, Sight seeing etc., Then I would take her to The Grove in West Hollywood for some shopping, Dinner and Dessert. Then I would take her to Tangoroa Fish Market in Los Angeles for some excellent seafood. Then on Sunday I would take her to The 3rd street Promenade for some outdoor Salsa Dancing and Dinner.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and Foremost, I have to Give Thanks to God my Heavenly Father who makes all Things possible. I also belong to several Organizations but I have to Give a Shout Out to two major Churches I’ve been a part of for several years. The First is Hopes House Christian Ministries in Granada Hills. Special Thanks to Charles Humphrey and Pastor Andrea Carradine Humphrey and my Friends for their Mentorship, Guidance, Support and Inspiration throughout the Years. I also have to Give a Shout Out to The Living Room Movement and Pastor Kelvin Truitt and Danielle Mone’ Truitt as well as my Friends and Members for all their Mentorship, Guidance and Support. Lastly, I have to Thank the African Artists Association, the President Francis Onelum and all the Amazing Members, Artists and my Friends for always Motivating, Supporting and Encouraging me to never give up on Life and my Dreams.
