We had the good fortune of connecting with Shakira Reedus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shakira, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
It has taught me to take risks which is important! The universe blesses those that take risks. Not taking risks means you’re holding yourself back with fear. i wanted my business to progress and grow, which means i had to do new things i had no idea how to execute, but i made it happen with little to no resources anyways.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
i am the actresspreneur – actress and entrepreneur – creating opportunities for myself and others. my main focus is acting and i am a multiple business owner. my acting will always reflect and help me express myself about current situations going on in the world or in my life which allows me to educate those that watch. i also am able to cast my friends in my or others projects! i hope that my businesses will help others further their lives or careers. i want to educate the world in whatever they may not know so we can all grow and spread love together.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
i’m currently in my hometown, Gary, Indiana visiting and taking care of family. i’d always recommend the food places here because they SMACK! which translates to how good it is lol! We have Elios, Steel City Cheesesteaks, Big Daddy’s BBQ, and sharks of course! Don’t forget the lemon pepper and mild sauce. We also have Indiana Dunes aka the beach which is a beautiful site year round.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
i appreciate my mom and grandma for teaching me to always have my own. i really appreciate my family because they have been very supportive my entire life. shout out to God as well for ordering my steps and guiding me the whole way through.
