We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanya Jane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanya, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
This question can seem really difficult and overwhelming depending on your situation. Think back to why you chose to do what you’re doing, and how it made you feel. Ultimately the reason why you do anything is to feel good.. so simply put, if you are not feeling good, then it is time to take a break from what you’re doing. Pushing through and persevering when its making you feel bad and think negative is only taking steps back. You won’t be able to attract anything positive if your minds not in the right place. Take some time to yourself (journal, meditate, or any other way you can find some peace) and think about what will make you happy and feel good, take steps towards that. This will create a positive ripple effect in your life and you will be able to attract what you want and continue feeling good! The goal is to always feel good now! Remember that 🙂

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started dancing at age 5 and it has been all I’ve ever done since haha! I moved to LA from Sydney, Australia when I was 19 years old, and for as long as I can remember I knew I was going to be a professional dancer and live in LA. Making the move to LA was definitely no walk in the park, I was able to figure out the immigration process, find a place to live, learn to drive on the other side of the road, and set up a life in a new country on my own. I remember getting very overwhelmed at times, but just knew I was going to be ok and over all I believed in myself, and my want to do it kept me motivated and excited. It has now been 8 years since that initial move, and I have learnt so much and grown in so many areas of my life. I have been lucky enough to achieve my goals and have opportunities to learn other areas of the entertainment industry, as well as start new ventures in fitness and online personal training.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Great Question! Hiking is one of my favorite things to do in this city, its a great workout and also has beautiful views. Runyon is definitely a fan favorite, so that would be first on the list. The popular tourist beaches like Santa Monica and Venice are so great and fun, but my personal preference is Zuma beach in Malibu, its quieter and has a different feel to it. Another fun day out is to visit The Grove, it have great restaurants and stores, and if you’re lucky you may see a few celebs there! My number 1 rooftop bar for the evening is E.P&L.P in West Hollywood. This bar is so cute, has a great vibe and has amazing views.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many amazing friends that I would love to shout out, but the main two that are first have to be my parents. They have been my number 1 supporters since the beginning, believed in me and encouraged me to go for all my goals. When times were challenging or confusing, they always are there to share advice and guidance. I know that without their support I wouldn’t be where I am or who I am today.
