There are so many factors that can play a role in determining our results, performance and ultimately our success, but some factors matter more than others. We asked folks what they felt was the most important factor driving their success.

As an organization that works with cancer patients, the single most important factor behind our success is COMMUNITY. I say that because almost everyone has been touched by cancer, and it is such a problem as far as the sheer number of people who get diagnosed each year. My network of those who support my mission is comprised of deeply passionate individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of others. I have been extremely blessed with the support of caring individuals who have partnered with me for over 11 years, including sponsors and volunteers. Running a non-profit can be a very lonely endeavor, because you have to wake up everyday to sometimes very discouraging news. I get emails and texts from cancer survivors (or their family members) where they are literally lost without direction of where to turn for emotional healing. The most important factor behind my success has been consistency. The dedication that my team has put in over the last 13 years has been extremely extensive. Most individuals do not have the willpower and the mental fortitude to push for their goals for over a decade. I love things that are silly, cute and heartwarming. Creating works centering those themes has been something I’ve done since I was a little kid because it was always so fun and serotonin-boosting.
