We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is having a relationship with God and believing that with prayer and grind; I can do anything I put my mind to. Secondly, most important factor is consistency. Making sure my brand is consistently visible by offering consistent programs year around and a consistent social media presence.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Pretty Women Pray Not Prey is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization where our mission is to provide a support team and events to women and girls that foster leadership, guidance, and sisterhood. We currently have two programs; Sisters Inspiring Success for women and a Mentoring Program for girls. Getting to this point in my professional life was far from easy. However, I realized that it became easier once I started believing in myself, my brand, and the services I had to offer. There were so many times that I doubted myself and typically talked myself out of the exact thing that I was doing. I was far from confident and that’s why I value my community within Breathe University. When I felt discouraged or doubted myself, my brothers and sisters within the community were always there to encourage me. Sisters Inspiring Success is a weekly sisterhood call via the Zoom app every Friday at 6pm PST (zoom.us/j/444105516). It is our goal to empower and provide resources to assist women to take their life to the next level. Topic include: Budget, Goal Planning, Mental Health, Physical Health, Overcoming Traumas, and many more. The purpose of our mentoring program is to assist young ladies in becoming self-aware; all while excelling within their academics. Girls within our mentoring program are given a personality assessment and within 15 minutes of taking the assessment; mentors are able to assist the mentees with increasing their self awareness, how to communicate effectively, and how to overcome challenges to become more effective. Within our program, we also go into details on the following topics: Goal Planning, Communication, Overcoming Challenges, Building Healthy Relationships, and Self Confidence.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a whole introvert and of course my friends tend to be as well. So we tend to like to do all the chill, fun stuff. We can go on a nice hike off of Stocker and Labrea; followed by smoothies and Jamaican patties from Simply Wholesome. We’re definitely going to get some bomb Mexican food and margaritas from El Cholos. Ice cream and cookies from Diddy Reese. If you haven’t noticed by now I’m here for the food and not the turn up! Lol. But we would basically hit all the bomb food spots and enjoy the beautiful LA weather.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my daughter Leah. It wasn’t until I had her in 2016 that I realized what my purpose was. The experiences that I encountered after I had her encouraged me to form my nonprofit organization. I would also like to dedicate my shout out to my sister Ashley; she has encouraged me beyond words and always pushes me to the next level, even when I doubt myself. She also introduced me to Dr. Eric Thomas’ podcasts, videos, and eventually Breathe University. Being apart of ET’s organization has been a “GAME CHANGER” to say the least. Being around like minded individuals that encourage you personally and professionally is a blessing.
