We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Travis, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think risk is the ultimate breaker for life in general I feel like taking the risk can prove how strong you are having the confidence to say I’m going for it regardless of what anyone thinks or says without any hesitation knowing that you went for it and not having any regrets about it having risk is like taking the leap of faith it’s a belief it’s either you’re going to get of your mind and go or be complacent and stay at the same spot I’ve took the risk to move to another state by myself with no friends no family just a duffle bag I did what I felt like I needed to achieve my dream as an entertainer I had no management no funds no hand outs i went out and got every resource that I could find on my own i had a lot of doubt when i moved to Los Angeles I moved from New York at the again of 20 I’m now 28 I’ve been here for 8 years still risking everything and continuing to set bar for myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am unique meaning I’m really different from the rest I just feel there’s no one like me I’m someone that fought hard to be an individual and not a clone of someone else I walk into a room as myself I don’t try to fit in or be better than someone else i come in as confident and humble I can be that’s one of the things I stand on as an artist I’m proud of my growth over the years there was a time where I really was holding back and was unsure but I did the work and prove to myself and others that this dream was for me there was a lot of ups and downs tears doubt off and on depression but I pushed till I couldn’t no more I still have many miles to to but I am far from where i started I’ve learned that you MUST have patience I wasn’t too found off patience you don’t know when it’s going to be your time so don’t rush and enjoy the process I also learned that I’m not in control I don’t to get to say when i make it I’ve learned that it’s never going to be easy it’s going to be some tough challenges that you’re going to constantly face and that’s where the true test comes in if you can handle this or not I want the world to know that I am an a achiever who never gives up someone that will go the extra mile someone who sticks to whatever he believes in a person that continues to move forward down or not.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh man coming from the East Coast I definitely can say Upper West Side Manhattan there’s so much to do in the city of New York there’s Central Park for one bike riding, picnics, if you’re into riding in a carousel, there’s so many food spots on every corner on every block the dollar pizza is one of the spots they have a place called Big Nicks get the calzone and waffle fries my personal favorite dessert spot is Magnolia Bakery do yourself a favor and get you some Banana Pudding it will change your life

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna dedicate a shoutout to a team I was apart of back in high school where I learned leadership/discipline/ knowledge and brotherhood the team is called “No Gamma Psi” if it wasn’t for them I would have not embody those things I’ve stated I wouldn’t be a strong of a person that I am today
