What are you inspired by?

We asked some of the most inspiring folks we know to tell us what they are inspired by.
I’m definitely most inspired by other people: their stories, their innovation, their creativity, all of it. It’s truly been an amazing experience getting to see some of the most talented people I’ve ever met be so truly in their element, making amazing things. Working on set, and also in the LA comedy scene, you really do get to see the best of the best in action. I’m inspired by my upbringing, not having much in this world has caused my imagination to wonder since a child. Not knowing, seeing or even living what you see on t.v made me want to bring it all into fruition for myself and others alike. When you don’t have a lot nothings unattainable so I dug deep inside myself and let my creativity takeover..where others see failure, destruction, and poverty…I saw potential and from that potential grew a concrete rose! My inspiration comes from everyday life, including all that I have experienced and the places I have lived. I am very observant and have a strong memory for scenes and images, which are things that help me get and remember inspiration. Also, a large-capacity phone and memos in the phone are helpful because I always shoot and write down a lot of daily fragments on my phone. The photos and notes of daily life may seem very fragmented, but I always find interesting clues and ideas in them when I review them, and then practice them. I am typically motivated by things from my daily life, especially social media. Due to COVID-19, I must spend the most of my time at home, therefore I have few opportunity to go out and seek inspiration or interact with people in person. Many of my creations, for instance, are inspired by short videos on TIKTOK or popular videos on YouTube. For example, my Swing Ray Side Table, I found an account on TikTok that constructed a small floating contraption from a cigarette case and a few fishing lines.
