What are you inspired by?

One of our favorite things to do is to ask the folks we are inspired by what they are inspired by. We’ve shared some of their responses below.

I’m inspired by wonder, mystery, and the contrast of light and dark. My art explores the line between the beautiful and the eerie, the familiar and the unknown—gentle giants in strange landscapes, quiet moments of magic, and stories that feel like half-remembered dreams. I always liked Acting, perhaps because my mother was an actress. I have this memory back when my mother was studying. She needed child actors for the play she was in. I was 5 or 6 years old and she didn’t even ask me or my siblings anything. She just took us with her every rehearsal and that was my first time on stage. Since that moment I’ve loved Acting. I’m inspired by so much. From little things I notice throughout the day to memories of the past, I’ve found inspiration everywhere. However, being in community with and seeing the work ethic of my fellow filmmakers who are pursuing this crazy dream alongside me definitely helps me to keep striving, and the reward of telling a story that’s been on your heart for months or sometimes years is like no other.
