I would say that time management, resilience, adaptability, self discipline, networking, and good communication skills are essential to success. You also have to have the desire to constantly learn and grow. With every new character I play, I learn a new story. I can just stop being me for a moment in time and absorb the lessons of someone else’s life. Luckily, I developed some very positive habits early on in life with self discipline and how it can be a foundation for almost everything you pursue in life or have a passion for. Those habits were formed from dance classes after school in all dance but primarily ballet. Learning to listen well, pay attention to detail, showing respect, and persistence. I feel like multiple things combined help people build a successful career. It’s never just one thing—it’s an artist’s skillset, personal qualities and circumstances altogether. For example, a couple months after I first came to the United States COVID hit, and it sure made things more complicated for everyone. It had nothing to do with me personally or anybody else. No matter how talented, or passionate, or persistent you are in your career, sometimes it’s out of your control. But it doesn’t mean you can’t be still trying to break through obstacles because putting an effort into your dream is the only thing that makes it possible—no matter what.
