What principles do you live by?

We asked the community to tell us about the values and principles that guide their lives and businesses.
Our collaborations are grounded in a desire to play – play with language, play with form, play with process. When we began writing together, we were in the throes of graduate school (both working towards our own full-length poetry collections), and we needed a reminder that art can, in fact, be fun. We started this project with no intention of writing a book. We were hoping to simply play with collaborative language and art-making—and to ultimately spend time together. In the beauty industry there’s a lot of pressure to follow trends or look a certain way. I make it a priority to get to know my client on a deeper level to find the perfect approach to ensure their service is impactful. As the artist I understand how social media/society can affect self confidence. Everyone is beautiful and I make sure my clients leave my chair feeling themselves. Read more>>
The value or principle that matters most to me is being the change I desire to see in the world. Why? Because I firmly believe that true transformation begins within ourselves before we can expect it from others or our surroundings. I call it the l3movement – always willing to learn, moving in love, and leading by example. This principle resonates with me because it empowers me to take responsibility for my actions and choices. My unwavering belief in the power of following one’s intuition has been the compass that has led me to where I am today. It is the principle that has guided me throughout my career journey, from my beginnings in global marketing to founding High Vibe Havens to now, working as an Intuition Medicine® Practitioner and Energy Healing Coach.
