We had the good fortune of connecting with Za Winton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Za, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The principles that matter most to me are: 1. GOD/Sovereignty 2. Leadership 3. Endurance 4. Mindfulness I believe that I am the creator of my own destiny, guided along my divine path of innate knowledge through my DNA, wisdom through my life’s unique experiences, and understanding through my connectivity and mindfulness practice. I serve as a beacon of light to those I have touched, physically through my gifts and talents, as well as those who have witnessed my growth and struggles from afar. One if the most important life lessons I have learned is to remain resilient. Situations always get better, even in the worst of scenarios and in order to truly learn from these lessons, we must first change our mindset. We are our thoughts. Our actions follow what we think and believe of ourselves. When we maintain a high frequency/vibration, we will attract greatness. We must always remember to give to the world what we desire in return. Ase’

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a stylist in all parts of life, including event planning, hair styling, makeup artistry, film/set design, fashion design, health and wellness advocate, and vegan chef.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
If I had friends coming into town, we would definitely spend some quality time practicing some self love, on my favorite “secret” spot on the sand, in Long Beach. Then, we would do a food crawl to some of the best vegan dining restaurants, like Stuff I Eat in Inglewood and Hot and Cool Cafe in Leimert Park. We couldn’t resist doing a little shopping with my friends Odessa at Nobody’s Jones Boutique on Pico, for some fly fashion and Renee at Shades of Afrika in Long Beach, where you can get a literal piece of “all things black culture” from body oils to art and literature.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One if the greatest people in my life, in the forefront of my mind is my long term friend Danisha Jeter. She has been a dedicated and caring Nurse for so many years, she is a wife, mother and multifaceted entrepreneur, all in one! She had always supported me and so many users in our ventures and she deserves a million kudos!
