We had the good fortune of connecting with Prince Daniels Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Prince, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I witness change every day in my life. And over time, the work-life balance will inevitably change, just like everything in the world, inanimate or animate. With change comes growth and evolution. My balance within work-life has transformed, based upon my wants and necessities. If I observed a void in my relationship whether with spouse, children, employees, etc… I’m more aware of where I need to deposit my energy (being present). So I show up. If had to give one advice about work-life balance it would be to have FUN, laugh as much as you can doing the process.
I think about balance in the way of maintaining order in life, which is to master the balance between your power and peace. A concept I described in my book I wrote, Mindfulness for the Ultimate Athlete.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I work with elite athletes and high achievers to elevate their mind, body and spirit to be ready for that moment when peak performance arises. I help them stay ready so they don’t have to get ready. I lived at a monastery, and for over a decade I’ve became a student of mastering your power and peace. Before that I was a Running back in the NFL and my experiences there and in life, have equipped me with the tools and mindset to get to where I am today. My mission in life is to impact and inspire others to live to their fullest potential and achieve peak performance.
I have some exciting things happening right now, I have a 6 week live Masterclass: a journey to Unlocking your Peak Performance. It’s moving, transformative, and elevating!
If you are not ready for that pace, then you can join my 4 week pre-recorded course: Normalizing Mindfulness; a meditation and breathe work training.
I also enjoy sharing my relatable stories about my life and struggles, and how I was able to transcend beyond those limiting factors. This happens on my weekly podcast, the Prince Daniels Jr Show.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the beach first and foremost, and then a place that is elevated to see the city, like Runyon Canyon. Next, we would grab some lunch from The Vegan Joint. Then we would go hang in the Hollywood hills with some of my friends. Drive to San Diego and go skydiving, visit Coronado, La Jolla, the Del Mar race tracks, and the beaches. Finish off with some peaceful and meditation at the Self-realization retreat Garden in Encinitas. After that I would want to catch the train back to LA from San Diego which is a beautiful scenic route along the coast.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A lot of people get credit and recognition. For one, my family, mother, father uncles, siblings, cousins, wife and kids. They have always been there for me and believed in me when others didn’t, and they have always been my support. When I read the book “As a man Thinketh” I experienced a paradigm shift, so I give credit to that. Lastly, my friends and business mentors have always steered me in the direction of maintaining my success, so they deserve a huge shout out for sure. I cannot overstate the value of mentorship and surrounding yourself around people that are doing things you want to do or aspire to become.
