We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sam, what do you want people to remember about you?
My legacy has been dedicated to changing the narrative around mental health. After losing our good friend to suicide in 2013, his death change my life and so I have made it a life mission to end the stigma around mental health. I want to help inspire those struggling in silence to reach out and ask for help no matter what point in their journey they are at because It Ain’t Weak To Speak.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started pursuing my acting career when I was 24 years of age. By the time I was 25, I had lost my good friend to suicide and my whole life changed. Acting for me was a passion project that I didn’t start until later on in my life because I was heavily involved and influenced in sports. Acting was something that I wanted to do, but i didn’t have the courage at the time to pursue it. My friend’s death ignited my desire to really concentrate on doing the things in my life that I wanted to do and acting was at the top of my list. After studying and working hard at the craft for 5 years in Australia and getting the opportunity to work on Australian TV shows Neighbours and Home & Away, I was determined and so I set my sights on really giving this a serious go. After jumping over various obstacles, I finally made it out to LA where I live and work pursuing my Hollywood dream. The road has been very difficult, and I don’t anticipate it getting any easier but my desire to make acting work makes me enjoy the journey that i am on. I would like to think that my hard work, perseverance and dedication to my craft, will allow me to fulfill my dreams and hopefully one day I can use my platform through acting to pay it forward to my friend who died by suicide and all the other people around the world who suffer in silence due to their mental health struggles.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am very active so i would start the day with a run or walk up Sunset Blvd and or Curson Canyon Trail overlooking beautiful LA. We would end up at Joey’s in West Hollywood for some breakfast before hitting Barneys Beanery for some beers and some wings for lunch.
The afternoon/evening would consist of going to EP&LP rooftop for some great food and cocktails and then go with wherever the nights takes us!
