We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliana Blazuk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juliana, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?

Habits are so powerful, and maybe it’s the Capricorn in me, but I love a good daily routine.

For me, movement, a mindset practice and investing in myself have been habits that have really changed the game for me.

Movement and exercise have been a very consistent part of my life since I was a teenager. I love anything endurance based and usually have some sort of race (half/full marathons, triathlons, etc.) on the books. I like the routine, commitment and physical benefits that comes with training. Exercise is both mental and physical, and it’s really helped me push myself beyond what I think my mind and body are capable of.

A mindset practice is a new habit for me. I’ve added some combination of journaling, mantra work, meditation and gratitude to my mornings. I’ll spend 20 minutes, before looking at my phone or checking my email, working on myself. This work has really helped me slow down enough to get to know myself better. As a result, I have a really clear understanding of who I am and where I want/need to focus to stay aligned with my core values and achieve my vision for myself.

Lastly, I committed to investing in myself in 2020. For me, this means working with coaches and carving out time to learn vs. just rushing through my day to tick things off my to do list. I currently work with two coaches. They both have different approaches, but they’ve helped me manage my thoughts, break down big goals into smaller steps and stay aligned with my vision. On the learning front, I spend a lot of time reading, listening to podcasts and taking online classes. I love hearing how people have achieved success and taking bits and pieces from their experience to apply to my own habits.

The combination of these habits have helped me get clear on where I want to take my life and business, see the finish line and cross it and be a thoughtful and effective leader.

What should our readers know about your business?

Getting to where I am today has been a long, winding road. It wasn’t always easy, but I wouldn’t change the journey one bit.

I spent the majority of my career working in the media industry in NYC. This industry is known for long hours and lots of travel, and despite both of those being true, I always made time for movement. Running, in particular, made me feel strong and energized, and I often challenged myself with half and full marathons.

A few years ago, I started to think about how I could transition my passion for health and running into a career. To prepare for that shift, I was certified as a health coach though the Institute of Integrated Nutrition as well as a Personal Trainer through NASM.

In 2019, I quit my job in sales and moved to Scottsdale, AZ with the intention of opening an indoor running studio there, but COVID had other plans. So, I recently launched HUSTLE House as an on-demand health and wellness platform.

Deciding to make a big shift and needing to pivot the business after COVID were not easy! But, I’ve really learned to slow down, think about what I and the community need, listen to my customers and then build. This has been a huge mindset shift for me. In the past, I ran before I walked, and these experiences have helped me reverse my approach.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I am a huge fan of experiences – doing all the things and seeing what makes a place so special. I love Arizona because you can see the state by car, and there are so many hidden gems.

If I had a friend visiting for the week, we’d spend time running in Papago Park and eating in Downtown Phoenix. Then, we’d road trip North and stop at Flaggstaff, Sedona and Page – a good mix of R&R, culture, site seeing and nature.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Shoutout to Brittny King and Shenna Jean, my two coaches who have helped me understand who I am, what I want and how to get there.  And, another big thank you to all of the entrepreneurs in the PHX area, especially the HUSTLE House fam.  I love surrounding myself with people who are learning and grinding and making it all make sense. They’ve been a huge inspiration to me.
