Meet Quandell Wright: Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Quandell Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quandell, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Some of the habits that helped me succeed was waking up early. Getting up around 5am every morning for the last 2 years has helped me stay ahead. It gave me time to mediate, pray, and work and by noon I’m done with taking care of me and assignments for my brand.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My gift is designing. I’ve fell in love with fashion when I was 8 years old and since then my passion and love for fashion has grew over the years. There are a few proud moments that I’ll love to acknowledge that I’m most excited about, the 1st one is having my clothes placed in my first and favorite retail in 2018 which is the Alwissam retail store, the 2nd most excited moment was seeing Chris Brown wearing a custom ski mask I’ve created for him on his Instagram story man that was dope, and last is when Barney Waters CEO from Kswiss ask me to do a collaboration with the company.
I believe networking, reading, showing up, and keeping my word with others is what helped me to get where I am professionally. It wasn’t easy at all trust and believe when I tell you that when you’re chasing a dream it’s not going to be easy. But, I can ensure you that if you stay consistent it’ll get easier for you. The way I had to overcome my challenges was to keep believing in myself. I had to stay focus and keep ensuring myself that I’m close to my destination. I knew if I would of quit everything that I worked hard for would be for nothing and that I let myself down.
Some of the lessons I’ve learned was that you can’t trust everyone. Everyone does not mean well and will stick around to gain from you instead of helping you grow so can eventually help them grow in the near future. I’ve learned that everyone has a agenda for their own goal so, make sure that you know the difference between someone draining you and being there for you.
I want the world to know that William Palmer Homme is a brand that is for everyone. We are diverse, we specialize in quality, and that we care. We are more than a brand we are family to everyone and we are here to stay.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Even though I’m from Detroit, MI I would recommend us taking a trip to LA. Los Angeles is one of my favorite places to visit plus, I have to travel there a couple times throughout the year for work anyway. Once we arrived the first place we will visit would be the Ethika HQ. There we will meet with some great friends of mine that work there. They will most likely give us a great tour around the HQ which is always a exciting experience and most likely chill there for bit before heading off back to LA to visit the Kswiss HQ which is also a great place to see and learn about the great history about the company.
My favorite places to eat in LA is Howlin’ Rays they chicken sandwiches are the best and we have to visit ChinaTown as well for some great food as well.
I love going to Venice Beach, it’s amazing there we have some long boards there and just coast away and hit a couple gift shops by the pier as well. LA has some of the best events at night its too many to name honestly, but trust me California is the place to be.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my Mother and Father for always believing in pushing me and encouraging me throughout every step in my life and journey in the fashion industry.
My Wife Qwinique for being my backbone and being so understanding. She also, invested in me when I couldn’t invest in myself at time. When I was frustrated and ready to quit she made me understand that my dream and passion is worth it and I appreciate her for that.

My Team Ebony Rollins, Frank Cato, Steve Kunde, Asjah, Stephanie, Allante Jackson, Terry, Briana, & D’Ante Brabson, they are awesome and becoming more and more better at their skill sets.
