Meet Andrew Puente: Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Puente and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Don’t talk about it, be about it.” It was something my sister always used to say to me growing up. As a kid she would pick me up from school and I’d hop in her car and tell her all about my day and the ideas that I had for what I was gonna do and be when I grew up and she would say “Don’t talk about it, be about it. Don’t tell me about it, show me what you’re doing to get there.” She was always pushing me in the most loving way, and it reminds me to walk the walk and not just talk a big game, because trust me, I have a big mouth, and especially had one as a kid.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to just be yourself. Despite what anyone else might tell you, there’s no objectively right way to do this life thing, there’s just the way you choose to do it. No one’s sitting there with a scorecard grading every choice that you make. You’ve just gotta do your research and when the time comes, trust yourself, your gut, your intuition, your preparation, whatever you want to call it. You have to know you put the work in to get where you are and that you can continue to put the work in to get where you want to go.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely have them hit ANY of the beaches or hiking trails in Los Angeles for SURE. It’s honestly really hard to pick a bad one but if you’re coming to LA for the first time you have to do the Hollywood Sign Hike! Check out the Grove to see a movie and do some shopping, maybe spot a celebrity or two! If you plan far enough in advance maybe even get a ticket to go a taping a of a tv show that uses live audiences! I guess some of these are pre-Covid Suggestions. See some theater for sure! I know LA isn’t necessarily thought of as a theater town it it has some fantastic shows (again pre-Covid and post-Covid soon hopefully!) and the THEME PARKS! Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, there’s so many place to go!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Chance Theater in Anaheim. I feel like so much of what I’ve accomplished has come from what I learned both professionally and personally in that place. I will forever consider it an artistic home and encourage any actor or lover of the arts to visit and take in some of their incredible work, either in their performances or in their educational series.
