We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Vincent and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what role has risk played in your life or career?
One of my life mottos is “be bold” and it has never led me in the wrong direction. The first bold move I made in my life was moving to Switzerland from Canada for a year just after university. I went to teach children with autism (which I had never done in my life). Needless to say I am a quick learner, and excelled in this role. The next bold move I made was moving to Los Angeles from Canada on a whim- no plan, no job, no money. I made incredible connections then started working in retail for natural beauty and wellness stores. Fast forward 6 years (still living in Los Angeles) and I quit my jobs to go all in on life coaching (another bold move). I had no idea what on earth I was doing, and how to run a business online, so I invested thousands of dollars on coaches and business programs (yet another risk) to help me before I made even $1. The result: tens of thousands of dollars in sales over the span of a few short months. Every moment in my life led me to this point in my life where I am now a Life and Business Coach. If I hadn’t taken risks throughout my life, then I wouldn’t have the wisdom that I have now to help people massively transform their lives. I’m not here for mediocre or ordinary, so that means I need to make moves that push me outside my comfort zone. In doing so, I’ve met the most beautiful people, built the most loving relationships, traveled to the most magical places, and created a life for myself beyond my wildest dreams.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Life & Business Coach for heart-centered humans. This means that I help those who feel a deep desire to live according to their authentic truth. They want to live a life of purpose and deep meaning, and impact people along the way. I help people come into alignment with who they truly are, after years of living conditioned by those around them. The work that I do heavily involves shifting beliefs that people carry that are no longer serving them. What sets me apart is that I can help others become the most incredible human beings who love themselves so much, and also create a stellar business for themselves if that’s what they desire. I have a light that is instantly uplifting, and radiates out into the world. It’s no coincidence that my brand name is Ashley’s Light. I give my clients confidence to speak their truth, hope for what they envisioned was possible, and tangible, soulful strategies to come into alignment with their desires. I have a beautiful union between both the sacred masculine and sacred feminine energies. This means that my clients get to live a blissful life full of joy and ease, and still get what they desire.
I am most proud of my first major milestone in my business which was going from $0 in sales, to $10 000 in sales in 3 months. The reason I am so proud of this is because that number represents impact. I was able to impact the lives of so many people and be a part of their journey back home to themselves. I got to witness them achieve milestones they never even thought were possible, and celebrate with them along the way. I am also proud of this because it shows the amount of dedication and commitment that I had to succeeding in my business. I never let anything stand in my way. Was it easy? Absolutely not. Did I cry and scream and want to throw in the towel a million times? Absolutely. But I knew that this journey was going to be worth it. I want to live a life that most people only dream of, so knew it was going to take doing what most people aren’t willing to do. I stayed focused on where I was going, and knew I was in this for the long haul, so that’s what continues to help me as I’m met with challenges. I know that I’m in this business for the rest of my life, so I don’t let anything throw me off course.
I’ve learned that you’re going to fail in your business, especially in the beginning, but that doesn’t mean you should stop. It’s the people who fail and try again that get the results. I’ve learned that you don’t actually have to work that hard, and that the magic comes when you can find the sweet spot between the DOing and the BEing. I’ve learned that there is so much to be grateful for, and that it’s imperative to be grateful BEFORE you get all the things you desire, because when you are, the things come that much faster. I’ve learned that entrepreneurship is a wild ride, and that you better hold on tight, and that it’s not for the faint of heart, but it’s oh so worth it.
I want the world to know that Ashley’s Light represents possibility. That there is unlimited potential within all of us. That it truly does take stepping out of your comfort zone to revel in all the magic that life has to offer. The Ashley’s Light community is a safe space for everyone. It’s a community where you are seen, heard, and loved. My light is a representation of the light that is within you. The light in me honors the light in you.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Gosh I love where I live. The best time ever would include driving all over Los Angeles drinking all the beverages, and eating all the vegan food (vegan gal here). I would take them to my favorite independent coffee shops: The Boy & The Bear, Hi-Fi Espresso, Groundwork Coffee, and Go Get Em Tiger. We’d go to numerous beaches: from Redondo Beach all the way up to Malibu. We’d sit by the ocean and daydream, then walk and check out the local shops. We’d eat so much food from my fav vegan restaurants: Flore Vegan, Gracias Madre, Kitchen Mouse, Monty’s, Crossroads Kitchen, and Shojin to name a few. We’d also have to pick up vegan treats from: Donut Friend, Erin McKenna’s, and Yogaurt. Lastly, we’d tour the shops in some of my fav neighborhoods: Hermosa Beach, Silverlake, and West Hollywood. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh goodness. I’ve read so many books, and worked with so many coaches and mentors over the last few years, but I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to Jen Groover. I saw Jen speak on a stage about 8 years ago and said “I will be like her one day”. I knew deep within me that I would be speaking on stages and impacting people the way she was. We built a relationship and about 6 years later she was the first person I ever worked with. She believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself, and knew the potential that I had.
