Meet Jevon “Jerzey” Goldson: Award Nominated Creative Director, Choreographer & Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jevon “Jerzey” Goldson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jevon “Jerzey”, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I have serious habbit of being very consistent and hard working. I know i have weaknesses in other areas but I am probably the hardest working person I know, humbly speaking. My success came from sticking to the plan which is to NEVER STOP! Hard work and consistency will always win.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
NYC based, Jevon “Jerzey” Goldson is an award nominated creative director & choreographer, Guinness World Record holder and founder of Lotus Creations Academy. In 2018 he won MTV Live propelling him instant notoriety as a national dancer & choreographer. His credits include MTV, VH1, HBO, Ciara, Lisa Lisa, Cassie and so much more. Today Jerzey is currently hosting a very popular Instagram live show called Black Culture The Breakdown featuring some of the biggest names in entertainment every Sunday evening at 10:30 pm EST on his Instagram page @theonlyjerzey. In an exclusive interview with Medium, ‘Jerzey’ explained that the show has already experienced outstanding growth with a total reach of over 500,000+ viewers, 300,500+ in-stream likes, and over 2,000,000 impressions, since its inception.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First of we have to stop by my studio Lotus Creations Academy to catch a dance/fitness/acting class Then we need to run down the street to the local bar Purpose to grab happy hour drinks and wings
Soon after lets call a Lyft to soho go shopping and grab what you are trying to wear
Right before we go to Elite Resturant in Williamsburg to eat and drink like Brooklyns Finest

After that Im going to sleep and back to work I go!

I actually spend a lot of time with people the people I work with because I actually love what I do and I like being around like minded individuals.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to Shout out all the dope influences and inspirations in my life because they got me here. I always preach unity because thats what it takes to be successful. I have had so many beautiful people in my life who supports me in different ways. I want to shout out my sister, Renique Carey, My best friend and future super star, Shania Guadalupe, My second mother “Baby Luv” and everyone from the Lotus Creations Academy team. They have helped me along my journey and I am forever grateful for the people I have in my life.
