We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Nwoyé and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, how do you think about risk?
I’ve learned that comfort and growth do not mix, and in order to grow and experience something different in life it requires taking multiple risks. The risk is scary at first because you’re stuck thinking about all of the what “ifs” ( what if it doesn’t work out, what if I end up in a worse situation than my current one, what if I fail, etc.). The best career results that I have experienced thus far came after I took a major risk that didn’t make sense to most people around me. I’ve taken many bold leaps of faith believing that everything will eventually work out and it always does. The scariest thing for me is to go through life and never know what is on the other side of the risk, because it’s easy to stick with what is familiar. Another thing that I have learned during my times of risk taking is even when I share my planned risk with people around me, I cannot internalize them projecting their own fears on to me. I encourage anyone who is looking for change and wants to experience something different in life to really do their research, make a plan, and take a calculated risk.
