We had the good fortune of connecting with Vaishali Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vaishali, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Remaining true to myself and sharing what truly matters to me. I also know that failure is just an event, it’s not permanent so yes I get disappointed when things don’t work in my favor but I shake it off. I focus on what I have to present, how it affects others and not get worked up about how others are moving along. Reminding myself why I do this work helps me daily to want to do it better. Appreciating my team members with words, and properly compensating them for their work and energy is also very important to me. My team is what makes me stronger.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am where I am today because of my husband, my kids and my extended family. They are my cheering squad. They take an active interest in what I do, ideas and creative feedback from them keeps things exciting and alive for our brand. The biggest lesson I have learned in the last 4 years is to hand over the tasks I don’t know how to do to someone else who is really good at it, you have to put in the money in the business to make more money. Delegating is freeing. I want the world to know that there may be hundred people out there doing what you want to do, maybe doing it way better than you but the truth is you are you and what you have to share with this world only you can!!! so don’t hold back. Start and do what you want to with tunnel vision, be open and learn from others without comparison. Know that this is all temporary and being content and happy is a choice so choose wisely no matter the outer circumstance.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in one of the best cities in the world, sunny san diego. My favorite place in SD is the Coronado beach. I also love going on hikes around San Diego, even as far as alpine and Julian. I love the SRF meditation gardens in Encinitas, I love eating at Eve Vegan restaurant in Encinitas or our family favorite Plummeria vegetarian thai food in Hillcrest. Sushi deli with their vegan options is another one of my favorites. I would hang out by Otay Lakes area and go to the Fashion Valley mall if we wanted to go shopping.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The credit goes to our students and fans across the world who appreciate and value their native languages. Thank you to my diverse team who are willing to learn and grow with me.
