We had the good fortune of connecting with Tennile Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tennile, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Ever since I was three years old I have had a love for the stage. Not for being the centre of attention but for telling a story. It was a way to express myself and just be though giving myself and others a space to tune out the rest of the world for a few hours. It became addictive. The more years I went through school and the endless hours after school I spent singing, dancing and acting my little heart, the more that I couldn’t see myself fitting any other career role than a performer. It is the time that I feel the most free and even in this crazy world the time that I feel the least judged, which may seem a little strange since the audience is literally sitting there judging you but for some reason it worked for me. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My story within the arts technically began at the age of three but really didn’t start until I was 19 when I moved here to the US for college. I had been in-between career choices from listening to my heart and following the path of performing arts to listening to my head and finding something else that would allow me peace of mind when it came to my future. And I was so close to just doing what everyone suggested until I spoke to my parents and they asked me the simple question “would you regret not giving it a try?” I instantly knew the answer and it had me wondering. I have a very supportive circle around me and a love that drove my work ethic like no other, so why not. That was when I made the call to my college accepting the scholarship and setting the date that I would fly over and begin. The following years were not as easy as that difficult decision. From not much luck with jobs that fit into my visa requirements, to actual visa troubles as well as all the rehearsals that ended in blood, sweat and tears I still am growing and I truly don’t think that I’ll ever be where I want to be as there is always better. However I try to remind myself that you may need to work harder for things than others but if you want it hard enough then there is always a way to get there.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh boy I have been waiting for this day!! I first would start out with a morning hike to Griffith Observatory then followed by a cute brunch at Solar De Cahuenga on Cahuenga Blvd. Besides of course doing all the touristy things such as walking the stars, checking out the Grove and all of the theme parks/Universal CityWalk, I would absolutely take them to my work Flutter Experience for a tour. I think that it is really important for me to show people around the areas that I am usually in so they can be part of my life here and know what I am talking abut while I am rambling on the phone. Then to really give them the LA experience I would see what shows are open whether it is theatre or a host show or even filming for TV and see if it was possible to arrange tickets.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
