We had the good fortune of connecting with Conrad Paul and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Conrad, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I’m addicted to risk. It’s everything to me. Every risk i’ve taken, successful or not, has gotten me where I am today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A few years back I entered LA as a singer/songwriter. Getting involved with writing camps and helping develop future artists was the goal. But recently, within the past year, i’ve changed routes. I’ve been focused a lot more on developing myself as my own artist and I have to say, it all feels right. Recently I met a DJ known as BKAY who’s not only led me to this new path, but has also become a brother to me along the way. We actually released a single together a couple months back called “Take Me To California!” The process of creating it is a memory either of us will ever forget. Since then, him & my closest homies have really become my team. We move different, & have gone from recognizing, to acting on it. The months of August & September have been grind mode for us. While I’ve been locked in on the release of my EP “Mulholland” , they’ve all been by my side figuring out the correct ways to market the product, while configuring/building my brand. Its a part of the process I don’t think any of us would have considered enjoyable, but we’re hungry! Max Keeble shit, feel me?! IYKYK. Now with everything underway, I’m not only comfortable, but eager to share my new music as an independent artist! Trust me, this is a side of me you’ve never known, but these songs are experiences that touch the deepest depths of who I am. It’s a beautiful, dark disasterpiece. “Mulholland” releases Friday, October 8 on all streaming platforms!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Shit, here in LA, the 3 things you need to know are Brunch, Taco Tuesday, & who the Houston Brothers are. That’s it. One of my favorite brunch spots here in LA is Soho Warehouse. Great drinks with a beautiful rooftop view of DTLA. Taco Tuesday though, is El Compadre on Sunset all day! They light their margaritas on fire. Say less. When it comes to having a fun night out in the city, that’s where the Houston Brothers come in. Their spots are the only places you need to worry about being on a Wed-Sat. Good Times at Davey Waynes, Dirty Laundry, Black Rabbit, No Vacancy, Break room 86, La Descarga, Pour Vous, Harvard & Stone, Piano Bar, & Kiss Kiss Bang Bang are all local spots owned by these guys. From disco to hip hop, they cover all the best music to dance & get out too. Oh, & they have the craziest fucking entrances to their locations!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this shout out to the friends and connections i’ve had the privilege of making within the past year or so along this journey. Short days, long nights! From networking at events to working in the studio, i’m grateful for all of you.
