Meet Zane Jones | Actor/Comedian

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zane Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zane, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I’d say give up when you the risk vs reward is too high for you and keep going as long as it isn’t. However much time, money, and energy you’re willing to put forth is unique to you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I really can’t describe my art because I express myself in so many different mediums and their isn’t a consistent tone or idea I lean towards. But generally speaking, I think my art is at the cusp of being dark but feels very lighthearted.

I think the fact that I genuinely love people is what sets me apart.. Since I love everyone and I’m very extroverted, joyful, charismatic, etc and I pride myself on being truthful, I feel like the energy in which I say things always feels that way. I can say something negative but it feels like loving honesty and not hurtful honesty like I’m being a dickhead.

I got to where I am by believing in myself and taking risks. I make plans to succeed but I don’t over think my plans to find flaws in them. If they are good enough to stand on, I’ll act on it and figure out the holes in the plan as I’m living through it. I’m not afraid of what may present itself as I act on things. I’d say it was easy to get to where I am because I love what I do. The passion makes the pain easier because even though there are challenging things that I move on from or quit doing etc., I never feel like I want to quit being an entertainer. Since I wholeheartedly believe I will make it big, the resistance I get feels minuscule and I maneuver around it and I don’t tend to sulk and beat myself up over much. I think I just flow like a river and the obstacles in my path, I go around it. Not unscathed but since I rarely put myself in a mental slump about stuff, I just keep going like a river does and the outcome is always positive. I choose the people I work with based on if we get along not based on what they can bring to the table. That always makes for a great working atmosphere and breeds positivity.

I want people of the world to know that I care about them. And I only care about people because we are the driving force behind everything. People decide the laws, who governs them, what others believe, etc so if you invest into people, all the things we complain about in society will slowly remedy themselves because good people that are the result of us caring about people, will make decisions that are in the best interest of people. They will hopefully not side with nations, corporations, etc. I am loyal to people not the things that are products of people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom mostly deserves all the credit. Most of my success is due to her always speaking positively to me and wanting to create with me. I’d say I’m the sum of everything she wanted me to be. But also my wife is always supporting and rooting for me for the past 8 years and my elementary school teacher Dr. Blackwell always treated me like I was someone important. Through all of them, I’ve always felt like their opinions of me matter and I wanted to meet their expectations.
