Meet Swani Love | Musician and Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Swani Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Swani, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
My mantra is to Live By Love. So I’d say the value of love is what matters most to me. I spent a good bit of my life doing what I thought I needed to do which was deeply rooted in people-pleasing, a desire not disappoint others, and a fear of rejection. Moment by moment, I decided that I no longer wanted to do that. I wanted to simply do the things that brought love and joy into my life. I feel if we all chose to live by doing what we love while spreading love along the way, the world would be vibrating at a much higher frequency and less problems would exist. Love is the solution. Always. Once I chose to embody Live By Love, I noticed considerable changes in my inside world as well as my external one. I have applied it to all areas of my life including business, music, and relationships. I hope by embracing Live By Love others will be inspired and encouraged to do the same collectively raising our consciousness.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Swani Love and I am musician who primarily plays guitar and sings. I also own a multimedia social media company that creates content for clients’ social media as well as operating a new-found non-profit called Live By Love. I grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC. Since the age of 12, I wanted to play college basketball. I played D2 college basketball from 2016-2017. After, I went back home to finish my psychology degree where I started 3 jobs as bottle girl, babysitter, and basketball trainer. In that time I became an executive producer of a film called “Stand Up For Something” which was filmed in L.A, written and directed by Octavia Ethridge. In the summer of 2020, I became the president of a racial equity group known as The Peaceful Protest. This lead me to a job as activist in residence at a high school where I worked for a year. I decided at the end of my contract that I wanted to travel in a bus and pursue music full time while focusing my efforts on my non-profit Live By Love. Although I have never had professional training in music, it is something my heart has always called me to do. This is what sets me apart. I didn’t have the opportunity to learn to sing at a younger age. While most people start singing really early, I only started singing less than a year ago. This will not be something that stops me, but encourages me. I have improved significantly with practice and that is my message to the world. No matter when you start, if it’s something you want to do simply practice and progress is bound to follow. My sound in music is different with a combination of blues, soul, folk type sound, however, I will not be limiting myself to any certain sound. We are creators created to create whatever comes to our souls. In business, what sets me apart is the fact I only work with clients who are dedicated to changing the world with their business or career. There are so many things I am excited about with music. First, the fact that after spending my entire life denying myself of pursuing this dream that I am now pursuing my dreams of music. I am excited to continue to progress in my musical skills and increase my musical knowledge. I am also excited to inspire others that if I can pursue my dreams then they can too. Mostly, I am excited to spread love on this journey wherever the Universe takes me on this Road to Rhythm Journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots to visit when I am in L.A. are walking around downtown, checking out the Hollywood Stars, and taking a trip to Santa Monica Blvd. We would go eat at every vegan spot available! I am definitely a vegan foodie. The most interesting things for us to checkout while there would be professional music studios as well as movie sets. I had a blast building sets at the L.A film school so we would do that as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely want to shoutout Kenneth “The Phenomenal Hawk” Massey for recommending me for this interview. I also want to shoutout Dave Dominguez, my music coach and producer for helping me get to the level of music I am at now. And a big shoutout to all the people who have encouraged me along the way whether it be my business ventures, community efforts, or musicianship. Much love!
