We had the good fortune of connecting with Sisse Marie Soeby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sisse Marie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
To be honest, it didn’t feel like a choice. I started my professional career at 13, so I never thought about doing anything else. I love the process of creating. From nothing, we can create everything.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been in entertainment my whole life. I won a big national singer/songwriter competition that led to a gold certified album at age 15. I traveled the world with my music at the same time I worked in the modeling industry and hosted a TV show on MTV. The last 5 years I have focused on my acting career.

I love to create! From one note, you can create a full song. From a little dialogue on piece of paper, you can create a character. The creative process brings me to the now moment. Nothing else matters. It is a fantastic realm to be in.

Focus, talent, dedication, creativity and fantasy have got me to where I am today. Life isn’t easy, but if you do what you are passionate about it becomes so much more enjoyable.

What I have learned through the years is: Do it for you! Don’t try to convince or prove anything to anybody. When you do it for you, you will do it for them. Be open-minded sometimes we don’t know what’s best for us. Everything is for me, nothing is against me. There is truly a gift in all the lessons. Especially when we don’t get what we think we need or want.

I’m here to change the world for the better. Not necessarily the entire world. But I want to leave everywhere I go better than how I found it. I want to shine, and I want you to do the same.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the nature in California. I would definitely take my gust to the beach and show them ecstatic dance and the drum circle that is happening in Venice. It’s always a hit when I bring my Danish friends and family. I would take them hiking in Malibu. I’m vegan and the there’s so many great vegan restaurants in LA. One of my favorite spots is Ma-Kin Vegan Sushi. Even though you are not vegan, you should try I out.
I would bring them to Joshua Tree. I love going up there horseback riding. Taking off in the early morning and going to the natural hot springs and riding home in the moonlight. It’s so magical.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family always supported me, even though they had no idea what I was doing. They have never been in entertainment, so it was hard for them to give me advice. They trusted I knew what I was doing (even when I didn’t). When I first came to LA I joined Agape Spiritual Center founded by Michael Bernard Beckwith. It has changed my life for the better.
