We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarine, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand has been: 1. The support of my family and boyfriend (because they’ve all helped me out and pushed me to grow and get bigger) , 2. Not being afraid of rejection or hard times because owning small biz is no easy. And 3. Always making sure I advertise no matter what, and have good relationships with different vendors.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m an event planner and also have a picnic company called Picnics in LA which is my little pride and joy. Before the picnic company, actually even till now, I’ve been planning events & also doing stage managing for 6 years. I started picnics in LA when covid hit and I couldn’t believe how so many people already had wanted to book me in such a short period of time. In a time where we didn’t know what was going on, and what tomorrow could bring, I found a way to make people happy and be able to enjoy events in a small intimate way and that to me was such an incredible feeling. I’ve been a part of so many peoples birthdays, Valentine’s days, baby showers, bridal showers, engagements, and micro weddings with this picnic business. What a feeling it’s been seeing people compliment my work & love and enjoy them, there’s no greater feeling than that.

Business wise, advice I would give is to not be afraid to put yourself out there, and socialize with everyone and anyone you be the chance to , and advertising advertising whichever way you can is so important. If you don’t put yourself or your work out there, how are you supposed to find potential clients.

I want anyone who is looking into starting their own business to see that, it’s not timing that even matters, it’s the mindset behind it and if you’re willing to go hard for your business, then you will succeed no matter what, even if it takes a while. Always have faith in yourself and the work you do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was in town, first things first I would ask her what she’s in the mood for all week.

Here are places and activities I love to check out & be a part of .
1. Carrera cafe / because COFFEE
2. ipic theaters – because you get to watch a movie in your little egg shell away from others, ans you get dinner or lunch served along with some yummy drinks & popcorn.
3. Il Pastaio – for the amazing pasta
4. If the museum of ice cream was open still, definitely there, but I do enjoy the museum of illusions quite often.
5. EP & LP for a good bar vibe.

7: The comedy store- for good laughs.

10. Nobu cause of the yummy sushi.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As i mentioned before, my family and boyfriend deserve all the credit for always helping me and pushing me to grow more and more & supporting me every step of the way. All the times they come and set up events with me, or stay the night to plan and get things ready, would not have been able to get through without them.
