Meet Kirk Hawkins | Real Estate Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kirk Hawkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kirk, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always wanted to make a difference in the world. That’s why I got into broadcast journalism. But, I also loved nice homes. And I wanted to own one of my own some day! Ater a lot of thought, I decided to get my real estate license, and make a tangible difference in the lives of my clients by guiding them through the process of buying their own homes. I have never had so much fun, worked so hard, and been as exhausted and exhilirated as I do in this role. What’s most important to me is my fiduciary duty to my clients by helping them make the biggest investment decision of their lives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I thought I would be a television journalist forever. I had always dreamed of anchoring and reporting the news. But, I read a book called “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” and everything started to change. My dream of financial freedom was born. I got my real estate license and started to build a career in real estate. It took me several months to sell my first home. But, once I surpassed that milestone, everything started to move very quickly. Listings. Buyers. Leases. The world has started to move very quickly for me. Plus, I’m fortunate enough to still work in television. I have never been happier in my life. This job can be hard, exhausting, but also exhilirating in the same way. Just as television evolved with social media and the internet, real estate is evolving as well and I’m fascinating by real estate technology that will alter the process in the years to come.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The great thing about Los Angeles is there are so many neighborhoods, so many attractions, so many restaurants and bars. It could take a lifetime to take it all in. It’s one of the many reasons why I think this is the best city in the world. I have never been happier, or felt more fulfilled in any other city. Sure I grew up here, but, I think it’s just the best place to be. I feel like I’m firing on all cylinders here and living up to my potential. As a result, the perfect day is hard to define. I would suggest a morning hike at the Point Dume Nature Preserve. A short hike, with incredible views where the smell of salty sea air with invigorate your senses. After that, head a little further North along Pacific Coast Highway toward County Line for some fresh fish at Neptune’s Net. Tell the owners you know me! I went to High School with them! Then, head back to the city, have a nice spa treatment at Ole Henriksen. For dinner and drinks, I recommend Cecconis West Hollywood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The biggest shout out in my life needs to go to the clients who have trusted me to represent them through their buying and selling. I enjoy working with them and making these transactions happen. It’s so much fun!
