We had the good fortune of connecting with Kerfew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kerfew, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
In order for my business to grow I had to learn to separate myself from my business. Set up a structure to where I work for my business

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an Artist in all shapes and forms. Music, Fashion, Writing, Painting, From the way I set up my apartment to what and the way I choose to watch tv. It’s all from a creatives mindset. I can care less about what sets me apart from others because I don’t know what others are doing. Yes I find a lot of inspiration from others and the world but not to the point where I’m comparing or worrying if someone else is doing better then me. My lifestyle is all about creating. I’m just fortunate that I’ve learn to take the things I love to do and monetize off of it. I’ve gotten to where I’m at now from taking chances and just doing what I set my mind to. Not worrying about failing. Failing is apart of the process. Nothing about it is easy you just have to stay presistant and consistent.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t have any favorite spots in the city., Yet! I still have a lot to see myself. But I’d take him to Leimert Park for a lil bit of African culture. To the beach of course. Being from Chicago seeing the ocean is a bit of a culture shock. We would also go hiking for the scenery. Other then that we chilling. My bestfriend and I are simple. We wouldn’t spend a lot of money to have a good time. We would cook for ourselves, While vibing to some 90s early 2000s music. Seafood towers cooked on the grill.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Team of course! My sister Lenisha Marie, My best Friend Cam So Fresh. Mentors, Melissa Long And Byron Walker.
