We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annie, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I think being an entrepreneur has made a positive impact on my children. Their exposure to my business on a regular basis has modeled to them things like responsibility, leadership, commitment, and self-confidence.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My background is in graphic arts and art history. Over the years my work has aligned with whatever is motivating me in my own personal life. What started with wedding invitations and all the pieces that go into that industry, then morphed into baby announcements, birthday party invites and planning notepads/checklists. Now as a mom of tweens and teens, most of my products center around inspiring t-shirts, tote bags and wall art. One thing that has always remained the same however, is my motivation to help parents & kids feel good & spread love around the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestie was visiting me in Syracuse, I would plan a day something like this:

– Start our day by grabbing coffee at Cafe Kubal. I love supporting this local small business, plus their coffee is amazing.
– Take her to the Jamesville Dog Park for a trail walk, while letting my pups get some exercise. This may be the happiest place in the city, with dogs running around smiling and having the time of their lives.
– Next an early lunch at Strong Hearts vegan restaurant. As an avid animal lover, I have fully embraced the vegan life and love introducing this delicious food to my people.
– I would probably take her on a driving tour of downtown Syracuse, showing off all the changes and improvements going on here.
– A stop at the Everson Museum of Art is a must. So much local, national and international work on display that we are so proud of.
– If it’s during basketball season, we would end the night with a Syracuse University basketball game (men’s or women’s!) at the Carrier Dome. This is such a fun and exciting way to experience my hometown and cheer for our beloved team.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my friend Alice G Patterson. I met her 9 years ago when I was just getting ready to launch my business. I hired her to take branding photos for my new website. We immediately hit it off, worked so well together, and became fierce supporters of one another’s work. She is the person that I bounce any idea off of, who I go to for honest feedback, and she is responsible for elevating my work and my brand through her gorgeous photography.
