Meet Trishita Recs | Vocalist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trishita Recs and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trishita, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I was studying commerce in high school, one of the first things we learnt is that – the bigger the risk, the bigger the return. I truly believe in that statement and I have been following that throughout the course of my career. I think every single breakthrough I have been able to achieve, has been the result of huge risk. However, it’s always calculated and careful at the same time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t personally think I have achieved a lot professionally yet. However, making any kind of a mark in the world of arts is quite challenging. I am most proud of how I utilized my time during the pandemic. Specifically the very first year. Before that, I just focused on being a singer. However, the past two years I have spent exploring my capacities as a composer and songwriter as well. I love the fact that I am very self-aware, especially about my emotions. That’s what allows me to project my thoughts into songwriting in a very real and honest way. Every time I come across a challenge, I remind myself that nothing is permanent. I will go through it and grow through it. At the end of the day, I have realized that alongside talent and hard work, what you really need is a headstrong attitude to survive in this field of work. I am taking very conscious steps every day to become a strong person.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would either take them to Goa, or Himanchal Pradesh. People keep asking if I am a mountain person or a beach person, it’s honestly impossible for me to choose one.
In the case of Goa, I would want to spend most of the time sipping cocktails by the beach towards the south. Cab De Ram, Betalbatim and Butterly are some of my favourites. I would certainly have them visit some delicious eateries in the north like Burger Factory, Jamun and La Plage. Also, when in Goa, attending at least one overnight techno party is a must, and for that House of Chapora is the place to be!
Now coming to Himanchal Pradesh, I’d start from Manali. Manali has some truly awesome cafes like IL Forno, Johnson’s and Chopsticks. From Manali, the next destination would be Rohtang Pass, if the weather is good. Spend the day driving around in snowmobiles. The next day we’d go to Kasol and find ourselves enjoying a dip in a hot spring. Kasol again has some beautiful cafes, some of them are right by the river, like Lalit’s Kitchen, they serve delicious trout fish! From Kasol, the next stop would be Bir. The best thing to do in Bir is to experience paragliding amidst the beautiful mountains during sunset. The next destination would be Dharamshala/ Mcleodganj. I definitely see myself living there at one point in my life. Spend time in monasteries, relish mouth-watering Korean food and bask in the glory of the mountains all around. The best way to end this trip would be to drive down to Amritsar and visit Golden Temple and Wagah Border. Also, don’t forget to eat at a Punjabi Dhaba while you’re at it!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my Guru (teacher) Pt. Vinod Mishra. He was the very first teacher I had and he laid the foundation that eventually helped me become the vocalist I am today.
