We had the good fortune of connecting with Na’eem Walon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Na’eem, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks has played a pivotal role, not just in my career, but also in the course of my life. I think risk taking is essential for growth because unforeseen opportunities usually arise, you develop new skills, and it’s a confidence builder.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a digital creator and owner of a media company, what sets me apart from others is the versatility of my brand. I’ve partnered with several companies that range from fashion to furniture. The diversity of my audience, and the ability to execute big projects in a timely manner. I got to where i’m at today, by taking my time, learning each aspect of the business, and being proactive. There are many challenges that i’ve faced along the way. I think #1 was not being patient with myself in the beginning, and also not having the resources to invest in myself entirely. Lessons i’ve learned along the way. Everything is in God’s timing no matter how efficient we work or how precise we move. Always focus on producing quality product over quantity. And every collaboration is not a good one.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite places around the city are Wi Spa, Delilahs, and The Broad museum.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to Tony Bee Photography. Tony, is a world-renowned photographer and creative director who seen my potential early on in my career. He dedicated his skills to collaborating, and helped me bring some of my most important visions to life. Also, Justin Cox, he helped develop my brand from scratch and showed me how to attract, build, and maintain an audience. He gave me a ton of creative ideas that eventually led to bigger opportunities. And last but not least, Marquest Edwards and the MQM Life brand. They gave me my first cover feature as a model, several connections, and inspired me to move into the digital marketing space. I wanna thank them for their efforts and contributions toward my career.
