We had the good fortune of connecting with NOWEY BEATS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NOWEY, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Me (Josh) and my close friend Max linked up during lockdown. He had been making music for a year or so on ableton live and he sent me a beat he made. This inspired me so much that I started learning myself. Months go by and we decide to create “NOWEY BEATS”. This is a music production team based in the UK and we offer Instrumentals for artists, mixing and mastering services and we also love to show support to up and coming talent. The goal when creating this brand was to get ourselves out there and really showcase our skills across the world and hopefully we can keep improving and growing

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So as producers we sell beats to independent artists regularly. We may contact them or reach out and build a relationship with them and if the vibe is right and they are down we will lock in and work together. Recently we have definitely taken more of a custom beat approach and therefore that allows the artist to have more control over their production and definitely helps them to get exactly what they are looking for.

Along the way we have learned a lot for sure. One big thing is that less is more sometimes. As a producer we always hear things musically that we want to add to an instrumental but the majority of the time overdoing it puts the artist off and makes it difficult for them to catch a flow. Over time, you start to understand the needs of an artist more and more and it helps you to create more effectively and release with better results.

Through producing music and making beats we have had the pleasure to be involved with some amazing up and coming artists across the world and one of us even got the chance to work at a local studio which is home to local talent. With our local and national ties hopefully over time we can continue to keep creating opportunities for ourselves and who knows what will happen?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Probably the cinema to be honest. I know your going to think it’s boring but the cinema down here is low on price and also high standard what more could you want lol? I go down almost Weekley so I would for sure recommend it to anyone

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We definitely need to shout out Aiden (king aiden) , hes really talented and we have been working on a lot of music together and there’s a lot more material to come for sure.

There’s also an up and coming artist who goes by the name of guap child. We’ve produced a fair few of his songs recently and we really believe he is the next big thing.

Also big up to all the producers that helped us get to where we are today, the likes of ayobudd, alden beats, Valentin beats and beatsbycasual have shown nothing but support so far so thanks to them

We could mention so many more people and I’m sure they know who they are but sadly I can’t drop everyone’s name or we will be here for days
