We had the good fortune of connecting with Juan De La Rosa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juan, what do you attribute your success to?
The Dapper Juan has always been about dressing well without having to break your bank. I think what has made it successful is that I’ve kept to that motto over the course of the last few years. Even while being offered to work with other higher-end brands I’ve always kept my audience in mind. While it might be a great opportunity for myself, I know that my following isn’t necessarily going to be able to afford those products and that that point not only am I failing the brand collaboration but I’m also failing my audience. The fact that I keep them in mind at all times is what keeps The Dapper Juan true, relatable, and successful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an Influencer or like we prefer to be called these days Content Creators has been an easy job considering that I have a background in Graphic and Web Design along with some marketing. I definitely feel like I have an advantage over other content creators because I can conceptualize and execute an entire collaboration from start to finish. That involves sometimes shooting my own content without the need to hire a photographer. Then spending hours cropping and editing photos until I have the right content to finally put it out into the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you are visiting me from out of town then I will for sure take you to DTLA. There is so much to do there. From a variety of restaurants to bars and even clubs to end the night dancing. One of my favorite restaurants, Lala’s Grill, is a must. Grand Park is also very nice to go and have a relaxing walk. While we’re at it we can go and check out the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am who I am today all thanks to my parents. They have instilled their core values into me from day one. It is truly the reason I am the person I am today. They’ve always taught me to be myself and be the best that I can be. That combination alone has helped me in almost every aspect of my life.
