We had the good fortune of connecting with Brianna Saunders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brianna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Bare was created with women and wellness at the heart of the brand. When creating Bare I knew that there was a lack of organic self-care at the intersection of luxury and wellness. There are countless women who seek safe , low chemical, luxury skin care alternatives. The beauty industry is extremely vast but I wanted to create offerings that filled a part of the market that is rarely considered.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have recently taken a step away from my professional career to further pursue entrepreneurship in many forms. Professionally I have hop-scotched around multiple industries in the corporate realm and have found comfort in my success. I never settled and always ensured that my next step was a step up. My roles started and ranged from childcare to corporate administration. However none of these roles felt fulfilling. I am a creative and building my own legacy has shifted to the forefront. Currently I own and operate BARE skincare as my main focus. I also am a free-lance graphic designer, photographer, and creative director. There are a few other things I am currently working on but the people have to keep their heads on. swivel to stay up to date.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was visiting from out of state I would more than likely make our first mission a foodie trip. I am located on Philadelphia so a cheesesteak from Ishkabibbles with a Gremlin on the side is necessary. We would also make a stop at for some birria tacos and Beilers in the Reading Terminal for dessert .
For the art scene we would visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art , Magic Gardens, and honestly drive through the city to view all of the amazing murals.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My local tribe of supporters and motivators are whole heartedly responsible for nudging me forward. Unknowingly their check-ins, words of encouragement, and repeat orders are the reason Bare flourishes. To name a few… Channel Jackson , Lavalle Thomas, Qimmiq Rosa, Raquel Piedra, Janay Hightower, Canisha Tyren, Jamile Karout, and Yvonne Simms. These women have repeatedly showed in some form when it was needed most.
