Meet Morgan Glenn | Creative Director & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Glenn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Morgan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?

I’m part of a big family. My sisters are dancers, singers, artists, and my mom is a writer and producer. So, I grew up surrounded by creative people. We didn’t always have much, but you’d never know it. I’m one of 6 kids and 5 of us are girls. We made our Halloween costumes, foiled our own hair, shopped clearance racks and thrift stores, and always looked great. My mom taught us, “it’s not where you buy it, it’s how you wear it.” My sister hand beaded her own prom dress… a lack of resources makes you creative for sure. 

We were raised in church, and I grew up serving and exploring my gifts there. It’s where I found out what I could do. That was the first place I ever found a creative community and realized that there could be so much purpose in creating. To me, creativity is about communication… a message, a feeling, an emotion… a story.

Alongside that, I’ve always seen myself as the boss. I’ve been wearing blazers since I was like 10. My parents are amazing and really encouraged me and my siblings to do whatever was in our hearts. I know not everyone has that, and I’m grateful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

What I love about what I do is that I help creative people & artists accomplish their vision. Whether it’s coordinating designers for a song, producing a music video, or organizing a photoshoot – it’s amazing to be able to support the vision of the artist. Turning things from concept to reality is probably my superpower. I work with The Isley Brothers. They’re literal living legends. Sometimes I look around like “How did I get here?” And I have to remind myself it’s because I belong there. I put in the work.

It’s the “behind the scenes” that prepare you. So, all the little 30 second commercials, and 3-minute recaps – taking those projects seriously and handling them with excellence has opened the door for the bigger things. When you’re faithful with little things, you can be trusted with the big ones.

A lesson I’ve learned along the way is that this industry is all relationship & reputation. Especially as a woman in this industry, you’ve got to be assertive and bold, but you don’t have to lose your femininity in the process. I learned how to smile and say no at the same time. That’s been huge for me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I would definitely shout out Kandy Isley. She took a chance on me and opened so many doors for me to do what I love in this industry. I feel so thankful to be working alongside these amazing, gifted people.

Working with The Isley Brothers has been an amazing experience. In moments where I didn’t quite know what to do, Kandy has been more than a boss and mentor but a friend and sister.

I had been through a lot, and she helped me “boss up” again. I would certainly dedicate this to her.

Also, I’m in the industry but also in full time ministry. I’m called to both spaces. I have the support of my Pastors, Dharius and Shameka Daniels and I’m beyond grateful for them.
