We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Enright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Live life to the climax.” We actually made that our company motto at Lavinia. I love it because it means so many things to so many different people and means something unique to me everyday. One day it could be sleeping until noon, another day it could be hiking, traveling, or taking a bath. It means embrace whatever gives you maximum happiness in the moment.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Originally, I moved to LA to pursue acting and eventually that passion transitioned to directing. If you follow something you’re passionate about, that can lead you to another path. I’m a firm believer in that.

When I was younger, I became enthusiastic about running. About ten years ago, I ran my first marathon and had a terrible time healing from the race. When I was preparing for my second one, I started to incorporate cannabis in my recovery. I did a ton of research about cannabis and learned that it could also be used to enhance our sexual experience.

At the time, there weren’t a lot of products in the cannabis space designed for sexual pleasure. So I made my own. I gave it to friends, then friends of friends, and one day, a stranger referred to me as the “weed lube girl.” It was my “aha” moment, and I knew I needed to make it official. I was going to create a cannabis powered sexual wellness brand and Lavinia hit the market.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite restaurant in LA was the Bazaar but sadly it closed down. Thankfully, the chef is opening a new restaurant called Bazaar Meats that I think I’m going to love.

At the Sunset Marquis Hotel, there’s an excellent bar called Bar 1200, it has an extra special place in my heart, because it’s where I tended bar for over ten years.

I would say a beach day is a must! I love Malibu. I also love hiking…LA has some fantastic hikes!

I’m also a huge fan of the author Michael Connelly. In his books, he describes legendary LA places. I love reading his books and going to the places he describes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m so unbelievably fortunate to have such an amazing support system. I studied directing and am lucky enough to have two amazing directing mentors: Mary Lou Belli and Bethany Rooney. They are two of the most powerful women I know. They have taught me so much about leadership and communication. I’m endlessly grateful for their guidance. They have taught me so many skills that will translate to any industry.

Paving a road is really difficult and the people that are personally by your side are really important. I have an amazing group of friends and a fantastic partner that is so supportive!
